Aug. 1 first day for volleyball practice

The University Interscholastic League has set Aug. 1 as the first day for volleyball practice, and all six county schools are expected to hit the court.
Bowie is coming off its best season ever, advancing all the way to the regional semifinals before falling to Shallowater.
The Nocona Lady Indians didn’t qualify for the postseason in District 3A-8.
In District 2A-10, Forestburg and Saint Jo are returning playoff qualifiers.
The Longhorns advanced to the second round before losing to Dodd City. Saint Jo suffered a bi-district exit versus Bryson.
Gold-Burg and Prairie Valley won just one game apiece in 2A-10, which produced eventual 1A state champion Tioga.
