HIGH SCHOOLS: UIL announces Lone Star Cup champions

The University Interscholastic League released the final results for this year’s Lone Star Cup.
The UIL Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to six high schools, one in each of the six classifications – Conference 1A-6A based on their team’s performance in district and state championships.
The winning schools received a trophy and a $1,000 scholarship.
Standings including performance across a broad spectrum of events: State and area marching band, tennis, team tennis, cross country, volleyball, football, swimming and diving, wrestling, girls and boys’ basketball, girls’ and boys’ soccer, golf, track and field, academics, one-act play, softball and baseball. Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
