Saint Jo City Council meets tonight

The City of Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department/Emergency Medical Service will ask the city council, at its Wednesday meeting, to allow it to start billing for ambulance services.
Currently, Saint Jo EMS doesn’t charge for ambulance transports, and they may begin charging a flat rate for such calls. The issue also was broached at Monday’s Montague County Commissioner’s Court meeting. (See related story on 1A).
There will be discussion on renewing the lease agreement for Easy Street Animal Shelter. This item was tabled from the May council meeting.
The council will consider amending an ordinance to add drainage ditches and tree trimming to code enforcement procedures.
Also on the agenda will be discussion on redirecting traffic in the 100 block of West Williams and the appointment of Brian Beddows to the Economic 4A Development Board.
Opening the meeting, Shelby Lardizabal will make a request to have a car wash on Chisholm Trail Square as a fundraiser for Saint Jo’s cheerleading squad.
Mayor Danny Steadham will have his “monthly minutes” talk.
Written reports from department heads for public works, police and fire departments also will be given.
There also will be a citizen’s comment period.
