Construction is underway at Nocona General Hospital on a $3.5 million renovation project that will provide expanded patient rooms, a new entrance, and nurse’s station and more efficient administrative spaces.
Phase one of a two-phase renovation began earlier in August with the arrival of an asbestos abatement team that removed any hazardous building materials. For much of the hospital it will be its first major facelift since the facility opened in 1974.
Lance Meekins, chief executive officer, said they are all excited to see the project finally get underway, adding while it will be messy and chaotic for a while, the result will be worth it.
General contractor J.C. Commercial of Lewisville, arrived this past week to begin the phase one construction.
