A pair of open house meetings are planned for Nocona and Henrietta this week to explore proposed improvements to U.S. Highway 82 from Henrietta to Nocona.
The Texas Department of Transportation has scheduled the first open house from 5 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 22 in Henrietta at the Holman Center, 211 N. Clay.
The second open house is 5 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 23 in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at 100 Baylor.
The focus of the U.S. 82 project is widening to four lanes to improve connectivity, decrease traffic congestion and increase mobility between the towns of Henrietta and Nocona, including Ringgold. TxDOT began planning for this project in late 2016 and had the first round of public meetings in early 2017.
