MONTAGUE – Glenn Wesley Owens, 67, passed away at his home in Montague on Feb. 16, 2018.
A memorial will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 24 at The White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Wes was born on Aug. 22, 1950 in Ardmore, OK to Glenn and Lois Owens.
He graduated from Ardmore High School in 1968 and attended Oklahoma University where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He received a bachelor’s degree in history/education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in July 1973.
Owens served in the U.S. Air Force from 1974-1980 as E-5 imagery interpreter specialist. He worked along-side his father and brother in the Owens Petroleum Land Service from 1980-1986. In 1986 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as an E-7 surface warfare operations intelligence analyst until his retirement in 2002. He was a Gulf War Veteran earning many awards and commendations
In 2003, Wes moved to Montague where he was involved in Post 8789 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Bowie. He loved gardening, reading, watching movies and taking daily walks, called “walk-abouts,” counting each step into the thousands. Recently, he shared many camping trips with his nephew and family in the hills and grasslands of Texas and New Mexico.
Owens is preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Glenn Owens; brother, Jeff Owens and friend Bob Self.
Owens is survived by brother, Chuck and wife Sandy, Montague; nephews, Scot Owens and wife Mandi, Lewisville and Rich Owens and wife Kellie, Keller; great nieces, Olivia Owens and Emerson Owens and great nephew, Noah Owens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bowie VFW.

Kelsi Jordyn Fulbright

NOCONA – Kelsi Jordyn Fulbright, infant, died Nov. 10, 2024.
A visitation was from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at Jerry Woods Funeral Home. A funeral service was at 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor James Messer as the officiant. Interment followed in Spanish Fort Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 3, 2024, in Wichita Falls. For one week her mother and close family members were given the opportunity to love on her, pray over her and create small memories with her and each other. She was born at 7 pounds 15 ounces and 19 inches long. Though her stature was small and her life on earth was short, her impact was huge.
She was preceded in death by three uncles.
She is survived by her parents, Unity McGowan and Josh Fulbright; half-brother, Joseph Bax; her grandparents; her great-grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

J.C. “Pat” Foreman

JACKSBORO – J.C. Foreman, 77, lovingly known as Pat, passed away on Nov. 9, 2024 at his home in Jacksboro.
A visitation was from 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro. A funeral service followed the visitation. Burial took place at Newport Cemetery.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1947 in Bowie to Jesse James Foreman and June Ella (Dumas) Allison. Pat married Phyllis Leek on June 16, 1990, in Pipe Creek, TX and they were both members of the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro. Pat worked in the oil and gas industry and owned Circle P Trucking. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Davidson and brother, Gary Foreman.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Foreman; daughters, Tami Deaton and husband Keith and Tonya Rhyne; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers-in-law, Joe Davidson and Tommy Leek and sister-in-law, Kathy Foreman along with many extended family and friends.

NOCONA – Donna Russell, 71, died at her home in Nocona on Nov. 7, 2024.
There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until service time on Nov. 13 at Jerry Woods Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Gazebo in Nocona Cemetery officiated by Pastor Marvin Pepper.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1952 in Nocona at the Major Clinic to Sam Taylor and Billie Roberts Taylor. She grew up in Nocona and worked mostly as a beautician. She married Danny Russell on Oct. 8, 1974 in Montague County.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny; her parents and one nephew.
She is survived by her children, Cody Russell, Haslet and Amy Spikes, Wichita Falls; sisters, Becky Taylor, Nocona and Angela Taylor, Henrietta; brother, Sammy Taylor, Decatur and four grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society – Lung Cancer Charity or Leukemia Society.
