PV teams sweep district tourney

The district 21-1A golf tournament happened earlier this week at Indian Oaks Golf Course in Nocona.
It was a sweep in the team results for the Prairie Valley boys and girls teams for the first time in recent memory. After three straight years of second place finishes, both teams broke through the same day.
The boy’s team won by 25 strokes and the girl’s team won by 14 strokes.
Coach Lisa Sadler was proud the hard work her team has put in paid off.
“Our teams played great considering the 30 mile per hour wind gusts,” Sadler said. “We have practiced so much this year compared to other years and it has paid off, winning both district championship.”
Saint Jo was the other team that fielded both a boy’s and girl’s team. The girls team ended up runners up to Prairie Valley and also will be going to the regional tournament.
They were able to beat Forestburg by 22 strokes. The boys ended up just missing out of qualifying, finishing third behind Midway.
