SO discovers a UTV, seeking its owners

Officers with the Montague County Sheriff’s Department discovered a wayward utility terrain vehicle this week and they are trying to find an owner.
On March 29, Cpl. Andrew Miller was searching in the area of Farm-to-Market Road 1125 and Williamson Road on an unrelated case, when he found an Arctic Cat UTV on public property. The sheriff’s deputy took possession of the UTV for safekeeping while trying to find the owner.
Sgt. Investigator Aaron Brandle said he was able to determine the original buyer in 2017, but he has been unable to track him down.
The staff asks if you are the owner or know the owner call Brandle at the office in Montague or call 894-2491.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
