Pool staff prepares swim lessons

The City of Bowie Public Pool admission is $3 for regular pool hours Monday through Saturday from 1-6 p.m.
Family night is on Mondays from 7-9 p.m.
Water aerobics are on Monday – Thursday from 6 -7 p.m.​ Cost is $2 per person.
An individual pool pass will cost $60 for Bowie residents and $70 for non-residents.
A family pool pass costs $115 (up to three people) and $5 for each additional family member.
Swim lessons are about to begin with the first session from July 8-12 with two lesson times. First time is 10:30-11 a.m. and the second is 11-11:30 a.m.
Second session will be July 15-19. The cost of swim lessons will be $30 per person, ages three and older.

City staff examines new generators for water plant

City of Bowie officials were on hand to inspect the emergency electrical generators that were delivered last week.
Mayor Gaylynn Burris and City Manager Bert Cunningham inspected one of three emergency electrical generators purchased as part of an ongoing Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant. They also talked with Jay Evans, head of the city electric department, and Jerry Sutton, director of the water treatment plant about the next step for installation of the generators.
This grant provides funding for one 150 kW and two 250 kW generators for use at the water treatment plant.
