Fire damages vacant house
City of Bowie Fire Department responded to a fire at a vacant house at 103 E. Riley about 4:15 p.m. Monday. Large plumes of white and black smoke were coming out when firefighters arrived. Fire Chief Doug Page said there was moderate damage to two rooms, adding there was a lot of stuff stored in the unoccupied house. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Bowie Rural VFD assisted on the fire call. (News photos by Barbara Green)
