Starting at the beginning of the year, the Jackrabbits basketball programs continued their standard of excellence.
The Lady Rabbits finished third in the district to qualify for the playoffs where they would lose in the bi-district round to Jacksboro. The boy’s team would finish second in the district and make it to the area round before losing to Jim Ned.
Around the same time was the powerlifting team’s success. Both the boy’s and girl’s squads would finish second at the regional meet.
Beyond just team success, the Lady Rabbit team had five girls qualify for the state powerlifting meet in Waco: Jessie Henry, Chelsie Price, Carrington Davis, Emma and Sierra Skinner. The only senior, Davis, took home a sliver medal in the 181-pound weight class in her final meet.
Further in the spring, the boy’s golf team won its first district title in years to qualify for the regional tournament.
The tennis team also had some success in the spring, sending five players to the regional tournament. The mixed doubles team of Camberley Gunter and Victor Tran, the boy’s doubles team of Spencer Hopson and Zachary Logan and Jacqueline Hanna in girl’s singles all qualified.
In track, the boy’s track team won the district title for the second straight year while the girl’s team placed second. While many athletes on both teams qualified for the regional meet, the boys had two athletes, Daniel Mosley in the shot put and Logan Morman in the high jump, qualify for the state meet.
The senior heavy baseball team won several close district games on its way to finishing second overall. The Jackrabbits would then go on to win their bi-district matchup against Boyd before losing in the area round to Clyde. The team was also known for its various background skits during player interview videos posted to social media.
The softball team was much younger with only two senior starters on the team. The Lady Rabbits still rallied making the playoffs with much less fuss than the previous season. Bowie would meet state ranked Brock again the bi-district and would lose.

The new press box was by the Southern Bleacher Company out of Graham. Athletic Director Black Crutsinger said they looked at a lot of press boxes and decided they liked the one at Lindsay High School and went with that model. Sean Hutson operated the crane from the Hurd Crane Service that put the press box up for Nocona.
