County commissioners vote to change delinquent tax attorneys

Montague County commissioners voted Monday to make a change in its delinquent county tax collection contract going with a new company.
While not necessarily unhappy with its present firm, the court went with a recommendation from Tax Assessor Kathryn Phillips to contract with Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins and Mott LLP.
Currently, the county has a contract with Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson LLP to collect delinquent property taxes, while Perdue collects delinquent court fines for the county.
Tony Fidelie and Jeanmarie Baer, both of the Wichita Falls Perdue office, made a pitch to the commissioners Monday to add property tax delinquencies. The company represents some 2,000 clients primarily small to medium-sized government entities.
