County mitigation plan up for public comment

The Montague County mitigation plan has been in the works since June 2018, but the draft proposal is now available for public viewing on the county website.
That draft plan also is at the Texas Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency awaiting their review.
To view the county draft proposal go to the county website at: co.montague.tx.us and click on hazard mitigation plan. While the document is nearly 300 pages, the front index notes each of the action plans. Those who wish to submit a comment can send it to the county judge’s office at: l.moore@co.montague.tx.us.
The Nortex Regional Planning Commission obtained a $500,000 grant that helped pay for developing mitigation plans for a 10-county area served by Nortex. It includes Montague, Archer, Baylor, Clay Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Jack, Wilbarger and Young.
