A Nocona woman convicted in two 2015 traffic deaths could soon begin serving a prison term, as a Texas appeals court upheld the conviction and sentence of Terri Sanders.
The Court of Appeals Second Appellate District of Texas at Fort Worth issued its order on Sept. 3 stating “there was no error in the trial court’s judgment,” and it ordered the judgment was affirmed.
“We were confident the Court of Appeals would affirm the decision after all of the hard work that went into this case, both for the trial and the appeal,” said District Attorney Casey Polhemus. “I’m very proud of our trial team, and so grateful the families of the boys who were killed are one step closer to getting the justice they deserve.”
This case arises from a fatal head-on car collision on U.S. Highway 82 between Wichita Falls and Nocona on Oct. 23, 2015.
