All 9 nine counties ready for storm says TxDOT
WICHITA FALLS DISTRICT : Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cooke, Montague, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, and Young Counties – TxDOT crews spent today pretreating bridges and overpasses across our nine counties. With the potential for freezing precipitation starting early tomorrow morning, all crews have plans to start 12-hour around the clock shifts tonight or early tomorrow. Bridges were pretreated with brine. All trucks have their snowplows attached and have been filled with salt, sand, and brine. TxDOT is using brine as the pretreatment as well as on top of snow and ice to precipitate melting. Motorists are reminded that rain will wash away the benefits of our brine pretreatment. Ice and sleet can also coat a roadway very quickly with slick ice. Drivers should use extreme caution. And stay at home unless you must get out for work or an emergency. TxDOT takes care of the Interstates, US highways, State highways, and FM roads. We will be servicing nearly 6,500 lane miles in nine counties
