Nocona City Council finalizes May election

Nocona City Councilors heard from officials from Waste Connections regarding a rate increase during its Tuesday night meeting, reviewing the item tabled from last month.
Waste Connections has offered an increase of 5.94%, however, due to several customer complaints regarding the service, the council tabled the topic last month to await company officials who could attend and respond.
City Secretary Revell Hardison said there have been complaints about dumpsters and polycarts not being delivered and trash not being picked up. The city staff met with the Waste Connection officials to discuss those concerns and reported that to the council.
Waste Connection staff confirmed the city customers would still have access to two-yard and four-yard dumpsters, despite what they may have been told by a previous employee.
