April top yard winner named

Congratulations to Betty Falsone, 506 Hall, the first winner of The Bowie News Yard of the Month contest for spring/summer 2022.
Yard of the Month will take place in April, May, June, the prime growing months. Deadline for the May Yard of the Month is May 24. The contest also is sponsored by Beautify Our Bowie.
To make a nomination call the Bowie News office at 872-2247 or email it to [email protected]. If you email, please follow up with a call to make sure it arrives.
Include the name, address and if possible a phone number for the nominee, which will help us contact the winner to set up the phone. Throughout the contest the winner will be featured in the last newspaper of the month.
Nominations will be accepted each month and you can submit the same name more than once. Winners from last season will not be considered to allow for others to have an chance to participate.

Bowie fish fry to assist youth fair sales on Jan. 4

Enjoy a fish fry and live music concert on Jan. 4 all to support the 4-H and FFA youth of Montague County as they compete in the annual youth fair.
The annual Bowie fish fry for the Bowie buyers group will begin serving at 5:30 p.m. at the Bowie Community Center. Cost is $10 per plate. There will be a live auction at 7 p.m.
The evening’s concert will feature Dax Davis. Live music begins at 8:30 p.m. with the Davis concert at 9:30 p.m. Cost for the concert is $25 per ticket and $20 for a student, or $300 for a reserved table for eight.
