Court handles brief agenda of items

Members of the Montague County Commissioner’s Court handled a brief agenda full of routine items including elections orders and a pair of property plats during its regular meeting on Monday.
Elections Administrator Ginger Wall offered the order of election and notice of election for the May 28 runoff election in the Republican Party Primary. Early voting will be May 20-24, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. those days with ballots cast only at the courthouse annex in Montague. On election day all four polling locations will be open including the annex, H.J. Justin Community Room in Nocona, Saint Jo Civic Center and Bowie Senior Citizen Center.

Montague County Grand Jury issues November indicted cases

The following indictments were filed with the 97th District Clerk following the November session of the Montague County Grand Jury.
There were a total of 13 indictments with one sealed awaiting the arrest of a suspect.
A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

New transformer arrives at Bowie substation

The new transformer was placed on its pad when it arrived at the City of Bowie electrical substation last Friday. Installation of this 20 Mva transformer, which is larger than the two 1992 original 12.5 units, will begin this week and come on line early in the new year. (Courtesy photos)
