on

“Paint Your World Purple” is the theme for this year’s Montague County Relay for Life in Nocona.
The relay will be from 6 to midnight on May 10 at the Nocona High School Track.
Organizers are seeking cancer survivors and caregivers to take part in the opening laps of the relay, along with the annual survivors/caregivers dinner on May 4 in the Montague County Courthouse Annex. The dinner will be 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Those who would like to attend or participate can call Sandy Owens, 894-7999 and Sheri Reeves, 940-443-0008, committee chairs.
Deadline to register is April 1. Both survivors and caregivers will receive a complimentary T-shirt, which can be picked up at the dinner and then worn at the relay.
Relay for Life is a unique community event that allows individuals from all walks of life to join in the fight against cancer. Community members raise funds for their team which go to support cancer patient services and other needs, as well as research.
The relay committee is selling luminaria bags in honor of cancer survivors who are battling or have battled and in memory of those who lost their battle but remain in the hearts of their loved ones.
Order online for $10 at www.relayforlife.org/montaguecotx, or buy locally and at the relay for $5.
