Nocona City Council hammers out new facility rules

Published

on

Members of the Nocona City Council continue to hammer out the potential rules and regulations for the new Justin Building community center.
The council met Tuesday night and began reviewing samples. City Secretary Revell Hardison said there was general consensus they would like to use the facility to promote Nocona using it for things like festivals and chamber events.
A sample of fees discussed, but not approved was a $500 deposit, $350 cleaning fee and a $150 rental fee. The deposit would be returned if all the conditions are met.
Some of the first activities to take place in the facility will be vendors during the Mardi Gras Nocona-Style later this week and the upcoming high school prom.
Hardison said there was some discussion on the naming of the building possibly as the H.J. Justin Community Center, which would recognize the original occupant of the property who founded and created the leather and boot company. No decision was made.
