Bowie ISD considers salary schedule options

Bowie Independent School District Trustees considered different salary scenarios for the new budget year and debated changes to the dress codes when they meet in regular session Thursday night.
New Chief Financial Officer Ken Korbel made his first financial reports Thursday night including options for the salary schedules in the new budget year.
Following the passage of Senate Bill 1, the district is required to use a certain percentage of its additional funding for pay increases for teaching staff, librarians and nurses. Thirty percent of the difference between the new and old funding must go to salary increases for that group. Seventy-five percent of that gain must be directed those staff members with more than five years experience. Read the full story in the weekend Bowie News.
A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
