Results released from Lancaster benefit rodeo

Results have been released from the benefit rodeo in honor of Dane Lancaster, the 11-year-old roper who’s currently recovering from injuries suffered in May, which took place Saturday in rural Montague.
Rodeo organizers have reported a generous five-figure sum was raised from activities, which also included live and silent auctions inside the Montague County Cowboy Church.
Lancaster attended the rodeo, and took a lap from inside a cart with his family.
There was a special guest appearance from Texas Tech’s Masked Raider, who was Mackenzie White.
Lancaster received a special hat signed by all 12 finalists in the calf roping competition at the Cheyenne (Wy.) Frontier Days.
All contestants in the youth rodeo signed a rope can, and Lancaster also received a circa 2002 Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo poster.
Lancaster, a resident of rural Bowie, was born in 2002, the son of Diran and Kellie Lancaster.
The auction contained items such as tickets to a Texas Rangers baseball game, Leddy Boots, a handmade pair of boots from the Fenoglio Boot Company in Nocona, two tickets to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and a Trevor Brazile all-around saddle. Brazile donated three items in all.
Winners received buckles.
