The Bowie Athletic Booster Club announced at its July 29 meeting, the organization has helped purchase a video board that will be placed in the high school gymnasium.
The video board is made by Sideline Interactive based in Stafford, according to information The Bowie News received in an email.
“The video board will display sponsors, have player and student recognition, be able to show highlight films during pep rallies and allow players to watch film,” said Bowie Booster Club member Craig Stallcup.
Volleyball and basketball coaches will be able to display all practice plans and draw plays with the video board, proving to be an essential teaching tool.
It was reported at the meeting the video board will cost more than $15,000, of which $12,500 has been paid for through an anonymous donation. The booster club remunerated the remaining balance.
The Booster Club also agreed to make two more purchases during the July 29 meeting.
