Young cowboy to get first Tuf Cooper hat off manufacturing line

Published

on

Bowie youth rodeo competitor Dane Lancaster, on the road to recovery after a serious accident earlier this summer, was excited to be measured for the first hat that comes off the local production line in the “Exclusively Designed” Tuf Cooper collection. Keith Maddox, American Hat owner, and Keith Mundee, president, welcomed Dane and his parents, Kelly and Diran Lancaster to the plant Thursday. The youngster was greeted by the cowboy namesake, Tuf Cooper, a six-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier and two time world champion roper. Maddox said they were inspired by Lancaster’s hard work to recover from the accident. They wanted to congratulate him by giving the young cowboy the first felt and straw in the collection. Lancaster got a custom fit for his future hat from Maddox. He then selected a color, a liner and a crown style. He was assisted in trying on hats by (left) Mundee and Maddox, and Tuf Cooper (right). The new hat line will be launched in January at the Denver market. (Photo by Barbara Green)
