HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Nocona falls in five to Henrietta

In a battle a contending teams in District 3A-9, the Nocona High School volleyball team suffered a five-set loss to Henrietta on Tuesday.
With the loss, the Lady Indians drop two games behind the Lady Bearcats in the district standings.
Henrietta won by scores of 25-18, 25-22, 18-25, 19-25, 15-8. Nocona expended plenty of energy in the third and fourth sets and lost its steam in the fifth.
Magye Fenoglio produced a season-high 37 digs, and the Lady Indians had 125 in the match.
Nocona hit only .098 for the match as Sherese Price and Payton Ferguson were the lone Lady Indians with double-digit kills. Price finished with 19 and Ferguson 14.
Both Mackie Trumbull and Price recorded three solo ace blocks and Camry Tompkins and Ali Walker two apiece.
Jamie Carpenter and Chloey Hamilton combined for 47 assists. Hamilton also served up a team-best four aces. Henley Davis and Hamilton chipped in with 15 digs each to round out the top performances.
