The Bowie High School boys’ basketball team took another step toward another hopeful District 3A-9 title with a 52-40 victory at home on Friday.
Jeffery Howard remained consistent scoring, and Bowie’s perimeter defense kept Paradise’s outside shooting in check for the win.
“Jeffery’s shot selection has been good,” Bowie head coach Doug Boxell said. “His teammates have been able to get him the ball at the right place and right time.”
Bowie improved to 17-10 overall, 8-1 in 3A-9, one game ahead of second-place Henrietta and two games clear of Nocona. The Indians and Jackrabbits met in Montague County Civil War on Tuesday evening.
Boxell was pleased with how Bowie limited Paradise – for the most part – to one shot per possession. Read more in the Feb. 3 Bowie News.
