Lemonade Day striving to empower students one lemon at a time

The northern part of Montague County will be taken over by lemonade stands on May 21 as local students make their business debut.

The event is part of “Lemonade Day Houston,” a national foundation out of Houston. Students take courses in marketing, accounting and business planning to gain knowledge needed to run their own business: A lemonade stand.

The foundation’s website states the event “empowers today youth and tomorrow’s entrepreneurs through helping them start, own and operate their very own business.”

There have been 34 students, grades fifth through seventh from the districts of Nocona, Prairie Valley, Montague, Gold-Burg and Saint Jo sign up to take part in the event. Read the full story in the mid-week News.
