Bowie City Council approves seeking parks master plan

Two major park projects were approved by the Bowie City Council Tuesday night, and the Jim Bowie Days Association secured a discounted rental on city facilities for the June celebration.
The parks’ board received three bids to construct a 60-foot by 110-foot shed building on the Second Monday grounds. It would have 12-foot ceilings.
This new building will be similar to the present one that is open on both sides with covers that roll down. It will be located in the animal section of the grounds.
The city will enter into a contract with Gary Baker & Associates, LLC to prepare a parks master plan that would be submitted with various grant applications for improvements. Read the full story in the weekend News.
