Nocona City Council to meet on Tuesday
The Nocona City Council will meet at 5 p.m. on April 12.
The council will consider renewing the raw water purchase contract with the North Montague County Water Supply District.
There also will be discussion on two requests made from the Nocona Economic Development Corporation.
The first is a request to grant $1,500 to Peterson Photography to assist with marketing for a photography and moving image summer camp. The second is a request to finance an intern from the Texas Department of Agriculture, not to exceed $2,500 per intern.
Discussion on bids to mow and weed eat the Nocona Cemetery for 2016 will pick up from the March meeting.
Revell Hardison, city secretary, explained there was quite a price range difference in the bids and included some from a couple of new people. The council tabled the bids until this month in order to have time to gather recommendations.
Other items on the agenda include:
- A request from Chamber Director Randy Duckworth to place a building on city property at 305 E. Willow for stoage of barricades.
- Conduct an annual review and consider amending public funds investment policy with 2015 legislative changes.
- Discuss possible May meeting dates for canvass of election and oaths of office.
