Meet the Teacher nights set for Aug. 18 across the county

Montague County students will meet their teachers for the 2016-2017 school year during events on Aug. 18.

Bowie Elementary School and Bowie Intermediate School will welcome students from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Students will find out who their homeroom teacher is at that time. Parents are welcome to drop off school supplies then.

Students re-enrolling who did not complete online registration will be sent home with a packet to return the first day of school.

Bowie Junior High and Bowie High School will conduct its open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
