Clayton Harwell

Montague County law enforcement are searching for Clayton Harwell, who has been identified as a suspect who sped away from a traffic stop and later fled on foot eluding officers.
Sheriff Marshall Thomas said this case began shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday when a deputy attempted a traffic stop for speeding.
The driver didn’t stop and sped away at a high rate of speed running along dirt roads and highways south of Farm-to-Market 455, FM 1759 and Fruitland Road. The chase topped speeds of 100 mph and the deputy lost sight of the vehicle.
Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. James Taylor said a trooper came into contact with the vehicle a short time later. A spike strip was laid down on the highway, and it damaged two of the suspect’s tires.
The vehicle came to stop on Pittman Hollow Road, with the driver jumping out and running into a field east of FM 1749 near FM 455.
Thomas said they continued the search for the suspect throughout the night, and eventually were able to determine what they believe to be his identity.
Harwell is a resident of Greenwood in Wise County. He is 32 years old, height of 5-foot-7-inches, weight of 205 pounds, while male with brown hair and green eyes.
Thomas said officers received a report he was spotted in Bowie about 1 a.m. Wednesday trying to get a ride back to Wise County.
“He may already be back in Wise County. We looked for him all night. He is wanted on some felony drug warrants,” said the sheriff.
Additional felony suspect

Christopher Dellenges

In an unrelated case sheriff’s office also is searching for Christopher Dellinges, 25, Bowie, who also is wanted on a felony warrant as of June 5. Officers in Bowie and in the county attempted to stop this suspect several times during the last two weeks, but he speed away and also ran from officers during attempts to arrest him.
He is described as 5-foot-8-inches tall, and 130 pounds with red/auburn hair.
Anyone with information may call the sheriff’s office at 894-2871. Thomas said persons should not attempt to detain either of these persons because they may be armed and dangerous.
