E-recycle day on April 13
If you have unwanted computer components around your house or in the closet, then get things cleaned up with computer E-recycling day 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 13 in the Bowie City Hall parking lot.
This event is hosted by the Emergency Communications Team Montague County. Organizers said they will gladly recycle unwanted computer components and ensure they are disposed of properly, in an environmentally friendly manner. They also will ensure any computer hard drives are destroyed, thus preventing anyone from gaining access to personal information which may be left in the memory.
These items can include desktop computers, laptop computers, LCD monitors, keyboards, mice, scanners, printers, battery back-up units, some of which you may not know how to dispose of safely.
The E-recycle day also can accept sealed lead acid (SLA), nickel cadmium (NiCad), nickel metral hydride (NiMH) and lithium ion (Li-Ion)_ batteries for recycling. They cannot accept alkaline batters or computer monitors/TVs with cathode ray tubes (CRTs).
This is a public service being offered at no cost to the community. Any proceeds will benefit the Montague Emergency Communications Team and the Montague County SKYWARN program. For additional questions email kirk@higginstx.com.
