Jim Bowie Days 2014 adds new events

The 40th annual Jim Bowie Days Festival and Rodeo may prove to be the best one yet with a new kick-off event, expanded youth and amateur rodeo, more activities and more fun. Read all about the upcoming Bowie festival in your mid-week News.

Spring car show on March 29

Springtime in Bowie means its time for the 22nd Annual Jim Bowie Car Show on March 29 in Pelham Park.
Hosted by the Piston Head Auto Club, the show features a full array of competition categories from classic and muscle to newer creations. Come out and stroll under the oaks of Pelham Park viewing cars, trucks, jeeps and motorcycles.
Vehicle registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. at the park. Entry fee is $20 and it includes a free T-shirt for the first 100 pre-entries. Registration is 425 day of the show. Show time is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry forms are on the club’s Facebook page.

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday

It is once more time to spring forward as Daylight Saving Time begins on March 9. Move your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night, so you will not out on Sunday activities.
