Forestburg took care of Montague County and District 12-1A-II rival Gold-Burg Friday night, with an easy 72-0 victory at Longhorn Field.
Now, the Longhorns prepare for a road game at Woodson.
Woodson, with a record of 3-5, is coming off a similar shellacking against tradition-rich Throckmorton.
Forestburg comes into the game at 5-2. This will mark one of the team’s longest trips of the season.
“Any time you travel that far, it’s a tough thing,” Forestburg head coach Wayne Tuckwell said.
Tuckwell said the team is prepared for the voyage, having played at Weatherford Christian earlier this season. Weatherford Christian is one of Longhorns’ two losses this season.
Woodson runs a spread offense similar to Gold-Burg’s.
“They like to get players out into space,” Tuckwell said.
On defense, Woodson runs primarily a 2-3 defense, and it has been gashed for 441 points so far this season.
