BTX: Ready at the start line

This past Saturday, there was a BTX bike race throughout three counties which started right here in Bowie. It was part of the Chicken and Bread Days celebration. Event coordinator TJay McEwen reported more than 60 cycling enthusiasts participated in the event. Riders had their choice of several courses, ranging from 12 to 80 miles long. Proceeds from the event were set aside for the Bowie Volunteer Fire Department. (News photo by Barbara Green)
