FOOTBALL: Tioga too much for Gold-Burg

The Tioga football team has changed its offense in recent weeks, and it was on full display in Friday night’s game at Joe Corpening Field.
“They have been running more of a ball control offense now,” Gold-Burg head coach Jay Johnson said. “We were very well prepared for them on paper.”
However, Johnson added Tioga was tough to stop because the Bears are currently depleted by injuries and players are in new positions.
In the end, Tioga defeated Gold-Burg 55-8.
Tioga stormed out to a 33-8 lead after one quarter.
The Bears’ only score also came in the first as Kasen Allen scrambled his way from 25 yards out after being unable to find an open receiver. Colt Rainey tacked on the extra two points.
It would be all Gold-Burg can muster however as Tioga piled on 22 more points and induced the mercy rule.
The Bears struggled offensively, outgained 342-73.
