BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT NEWS: Montague tournament this Saturday

The Montague Independent School District will have a boys’ and girls’ basketball tournament this Saturday.
The Montague girls will play at 8:30 a.m. versus Sivells Bend.
The Lady Eagles will play the winner or loser of the game between Wichita Christian and Terral, Okla.
The consolation game is slated for 12:30 p.m. with the championship at 2:30 p.m.
On the boys’ side, Montague takes on Sivells Bend at 9:30 a.m.
The Eagles will play the winner or loser of the game between Tioga and Terral.
The consolation game is set for 1:30 p.m., with the championship at 3:30 p.m.
There will be concessions available.
The Montague ISD will charge $3 for adults and $1 for students for the tournament.

Prairie Valley Sports Awards

Prairie Valley hosted its high school awards banquet on May 9. The O.C. Mann Award went to Josh Stout and Linzie Priddy.

Gold-Burg High School hosted its awards banquet on May 22. The Gold-Burg Iron Bear Awards went to Eli Freeland-White for boy athlete and Hallie Nelson for girl athlete.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
