AREA BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Slidell boys top Forestburg

Published

on

In what was billed to be a showdown between District 1A-21 elite, Slidell was too powerful for Forestburg as the Greyhounds topped the Longhorns 81-56 on Tuesday evening.
Bryan McDowell, Skyler Sandusky and J.D. Moore all scored in double figures, with McDowell netting 16 points.
Coach Steve Sandusky said Forestburg wasn’t quite prepared for Slidell’s quickness. The Longhorns made only 35 percent of their field goals and finished 2-of-9 from the free-throw line.
Meanwhile, Slidell made good on 28-of-40 foul shots, and that’s what proved to be the difference maker in the Greyhound conquest.
