HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Bowie girls, boys sweep Jacksboro

The Bowie High School girls’ basketball team wrapped up the District 3A-9 slate undefeated with an 83-19 victory over City View on Monday night at BHS gymnasium.

Bowie’s record improved to 27-5, 14-0, heading into the upcoming University Interscholastic League playoffs, which start next week.
Bowie also defeated Jacksboro on Friday, by a count of 68-36.
The Jackrabbits rolled to a 36-17 halftime advantage, and never looked back. Bowie sealed the victory, outscoring the Tigerettes 23-9 in the third quarter.

The Bowie boys’ basketball team continued its recent hot streak with a 16-point District 3A-9 victory on the road at Jacksboro Friday. Zeke Vaughan put together his second straight 14-point performance to help the Jackrabbits. Vaughan also secured seven rebounds.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
