On Feb. 16, the Montague County Child Welfare Board unveiled a plaque at the Children’s Advocacy Center on Hulme Street in Bowie to honor the donors who made the dream of a home for children to feel safe come true.

It began as a dream of the Montague County Child Welfare Board to provide a Children’s Advocacy Center for local law enforcement and forensic interviewers from Patsy’s House in Wichita Falls to work while in our county. This would ease the hardship placed on officers and victims of child abuse traveling to Wichita Falls placed on them.

In 2009, this dream became a reality when the board purchased a house in a quiet neighborhood and established the Montague County Children’s Advocacy Center.
