Bowie Memorial Hospital moves ahead with tax district vote

Published

on

During a called meeting of the Bowie Memorial Hospital Board at 4 p.m. June 4, trustees will consider taking the next steps to conduct a tax district election in November.

For several months, the board has debated taking another run at a tax district election, but after the massive defeat in May 2011 trustees were reluctant.

Board Chairman Tim Winn has said the creation of a taxing district is just one piece of the puzzle to help save and stabilize the hospital.

Thursday evening’s agenda centers on the tax district issue and opens with an order to create a hospital district. Read the full story in the mid-week News.
