HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Nocona outlasts Boyd in five

The Nocona High School volleyball team found itself down in a 2-1 hole heading into set four in Friday’s District 3A-9 match against Boyd.
The Lady Indians overcame that deficit for a five-set victory over the Lady Jackets by scores of 23-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-18, 15-13.
Nocona improved to 15-11 overall, and 2-1 in District heading into Tuesday’s Montague County showdown versus Bowie.
The Lady Indians had a .217 attack percentage and Sherese Price finished with a season-high match-high 22 kills while Jamie Carpenter chipped in with 14 kills.
Carpenter provided a triple-double with 19 assists and 16 digs. Libero Magye Fenoglio and Chloey Hamilton also had 16 digs as Nocona topped 100 digs for the match. Angel Rhudy had 13. Read more in the mid-week Bowie News.
