Thirty-three girls braved the elements on Monday, competing at the Bowie Invitational at Twisted Oaks Golf Club.
The girls put on an entertaining show despite all the mist and wind that made conditions an absolute bear to deal with.
Wichita Christian, behind meet medalist Savannah Snyder, earned the overall title with 218 strokes – one better than Burkburnett and two less than Nocona.
“I am pleased with how the girls played in the conditions,” Nocona first-year head girls’ golf coach Jonathan Shaw said. “We haven’t played in anything like that yet this year.”
Bowie was fifth overall, carding a composite score of 253.
“The wind made it more difficult than anything,” Bowie head girls’ coach Jonathon Horton said. Read more, and see complete scores, in the March 9 Bowie News.
