HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: Polk, Nocona girls move on

Area golfers are following the same script from the 2015 season.
That’s because Bowie High School senior Chloe Polk and the Nocona High School girls’ golf team are returning to the Conference 3A Region 2 tournament.
The tournament will take place at both Peachtree and Oakhurst Golf Clubs in Bullard, which is a suburb of Tyler.
Polk fired a 98, which was six strokes behind medalists Taylor Nichols and Lexi Burnett of Jacksboro, at the District 3A-9 tournament on Wednesday at River Creek Golf Club in rural Burkburnett.
“Chloe drove the ball very well,” Bowie head golf coach Jonathon Horton said. “I am very pleased to see her repeat as a state qualifier, and get third overall.”
Horton said Polk could have putted better, and that would have made scoring more competitive at the top. Read more in the April 2 Bowie News.
