LOCAL: Hunter education course Saturday, more

The Northwest Field and Stream Association will be having a Texas hunter education certification class.
The class is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Aug. 20. It will run through 3 p.m. at the Northwest Field and Stream center on Southwest Parkway in Wichita Falls.
The cost is $15.
All hunters born since Sept. 2, 1972, must complete hunter education.

PWHF seeking help finding photos
Do you have any old photos of the 4-H Arena in Wichita Falls?
The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in downtown Wichita Falls is looking for photos of the old 4-H Arena, which was the site of wrestling shows from various promotions in the past.
PWHF President “Cowboy” Johnny Mantell is looking to put together an exhibit showing the history of professional wrestling in Wichita Falls.

Dodgeball set for Saint Jo
There will be a 6-on-6 dodgeball fundraiser tournament set for 10 a.m. at “The Dome” in Saint Jo.
Registration will take place at 8:30 a.m.
Teams are allowed to carry seven players, with six on the court and one alternate.
The cost is $200 per team for teams with players 15 years old on up and $100 for youth teams.
Proceeds benefit the Saint Jo Youth League.

Gold-Burg High School hosted its awards banquet on May 22. The Gold-Burg Iron Bear Awards went to Eli Freeland-White for boy athlete and Hallie Nelson for girl athlete.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
