LOCAL: Nocona powerlifting slate released

The Nocona High School powerlifting team will open the season on Jan. 7, 2017, at the Bowie Invitational.
Deziray Graham returns for her senior season, a multi-time state qualifier in the heavyweight division.
Nocona then travels for meets at Bridgeport on Jan. 14, Jacksboro on Jan. 28 and Gainesville for Feb. 4.
Nocona will have its own powerlifting meet set for Feb. 11.
The Nocona girls will compete in the Region 6 meet at Bowie on Feb. 25 while the state meet is March 18 in Waco.
The boys Region 6 meet will take place on March 3 at Chico, with the state meet on April 1 at Abilene’s Taylor County Expo Center.
Jon Shaw once again will serve as the head coach, with Jenni Luke as the assistant.
