For former Bowie High School four-sport athlete Matthew Miller, joining the Jackrabbit coaching staff serves as a Homecoming.

And Matthew’s wife, Sarah, also will be joining the Bowie family as well.

Matthew Miller will join Doug Boxell’s staff as an assistant basketball coach, replacing another Bowie graduate in Nathan Winn – who accepted a position in the Aubrey Independent School District.

Miller also will coach football and serve as a history teacher at Bowie Junior High.

“It means a lot to have the opportunity to come home,” Matthew Miller said. “I get to work for the school that gave so much to me, and to coach under Boxell will be a privilege.”

The Millers are happy to be employed by Bowie ISD as a husband-and-wife team, a package deal.

“That will be a perk for us,” Sarah Miller said. “We will be together now. I think it’s a big deal, and we are fortunate.”

“We’ve talked about being and working at the same schools,” Matthew Miller said, “and luckily it all worked out for us.” Read more in the June 28 Bowie News. 0
