Bowie Police, county sheriff receive upgraded software, equipment for 911 service

The Bowie Police Department and the Montague County Sheriff’s Office have both received upgraded software and equipment for the 911 call system provided through the Nortex Regional Planning Commission.
These upgrades were provided at no cost to the city or county as the departments received a new browser-based software, new computers and new monitors.
Previously, the system was used on one screen at the Bowie Police Department and now the communications’ staff has two large monitors that show the mapping on one and the call information on the other.
