Cruisin’ Nocona rolls out May 2-4

Nocona celebrates its title as “Classic Car Capital of Texas” this week with Cruisin’ Nocona and the Vicari Car Auction, May 2-4.
Three days of fun begin on May 2 with the popular 90-mile car cruise/poker run. More than 100 cars are expected to roll through the “North Texas hill country,” as the cruise takes off at 10 a.m. May 2 from the Justin Building at 101 Clay Street in Nocona.
The cruise then rolls to Lake Nocona with lunch at Arche Winery. The drive then heads northward toward Oklahoma for a stop at Riverstar Casino, just across the border from Terral. Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
