Nocona beats Iowa Park 3-0

The Nocona Lady Indians started their season on a great note with a straight sets win against Iowa Park on Wednesday in Midwestern State University’s “Battle in the Dome.”
The Lady Indians easily won without dropping a set to the Lady Hawks with one sided scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-19.
Nocona led from the opening serve in the first set as it got out to a 4-1 lead. A 9-6 lead quickly turned into a 13-7 and almost doubling Iowa Park’s score. The Lady Indians coasted to win in the first set 25-13.
The second set was not much more competitive. Nocona jumped out to a 10-5 lead as the lead only got worse for the Lady Hawks. The lead grew to double digits 20-10 before the Lady Indians closed the set winning 25-16.
The third set looked like it was going to be even more one sided. Nocona had an 8-2 lead early on. Iowa Park battled to a draw the next 20 points as the Lady Indians led 18-12. Nocona was able to play out the rest of the set without giving up much ground as it won 25-19 to win the match.
